Hi,
My name is Andy Hughes. With my wife, Sue, I manage around 20 acres of Ancient Semi Natural Woodland and regenerated scrubland in the hills north of Meifod.
The scrubland has been ‘doing its own thing’ for about 28 years and has self-seeded oak, ash, birch, cherry, hazel, hawthorn and blackthorn. The woodland has 13 species of native deciduous trees (plus a few others) and we’ve identified over 70 species of plants including 23 Ancient Woodland Indicator Species.
