Great to meet everyone at today’s meeting.

We are lucky to own the 4 acre site of a Motte & Bailey (Hyssington Castle) which we have been managing for nature since 2020. Prior to that it head been relentlessly grazed.

Ancient oak and ash woodland with large areas of blackthorn, bramble, holly and hawthorn. We did some restoration of the grass meadow on the Bailey by planting yellow rattle and have reinforced the hedges by planting 300 native whips. We also have some wet areas making this a very diverse habitat.

We are always happy to welcome visitors.

    Hi Simon,
Great to see you at the meeting and thanks for your constructive input.
Ancient woodland and an archaeological site, I’m jealous 🙂
I hope to catch up with you at one of our events in 2025.
    Regards,
    Andy
